I, Shelly Stasney, am a mother, wife, gardener, logophile, birder, teacher, enjoy butterflying, walker, writer, reader, aunt, eater, collector, cook, photographer, football watcher, blogger, researcher, Aggie, and Christian. I have an insatiable love for many of the aforementioned, and I try to do them all with passion. I am a wanna-be flapper of the 2000s.

I ate, slept and breathed elementary education for 15.5 years. I love all things education, and it is still very near and dear to my heart. I knew at the age of 3 I wanted to be a teacher, and I gave it every ounce of me while I was involved. I have a BA in Elementary Education and a master’s in Education Leadership with a Principal Certification.

My husband, Chris and I met in a bar in Houston while my cousin and I were attending a concert. He asked me to marry him that night, but I only agreed to give him my number. After three years, I decided I couldn’t live without him, mainly his hands, and I agreed to marry. I am super thankful for the support he gives me in my choices and the father he is to our children. Chris is one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

I was absolutely shocked to find myself pregnant in 2013. After many years of not getting pregnant, I had decided it was impossible. One weekend in February, 6 pregnancy tests confirmed otherwise, and my life has never been the same. In 2015, I was shocked again when 5 pregnancy tests confirmed there would be a second. Jock and Luke are also one of the best things that have ever happened to me.

I quit teaching elementary school to stay at home and raise our boys. Being a professional mom has been the best, hardest, thing I have ever done. Now I eat, sleep and breathe trying to figure out how to do this family thing the best way possible. While staying at home, I still feel the need to do something to share my gifts and fulfill my souls calling to help and serve others. Recently, I decided to take the leap and start my own business.
